Hormone Replacement Therapy for Women

No surprise here - women are different than men.  For that reason, we have different programs for women.

Because the hormones we are most concerned with are produced in the ovaries and menopause is defined as the natural decline in female hormones released by the ovaries, we find the needs of women fit into two groups  - menopausal and non-menopausal.

At Viking Medical, we evaluate the very best treatment for you based on both your symptoms and the testing done to determine your hormone levels.

It is important to realize that many women start experiencing Menopausal Symptoms years before actual menopause.  We can help!

We will formulate an individualized plan to suit your exact needs utilizing molecular identical hormones to restore your body’s optimum hormone balance.

Depending on your hormone levels, you may be prescribed one or all of the following hormones.

Estrogen (Bi-Est) is the main hormone involved in women’s therapy. We will provide you with a low dose estrogen to relieve menopausal symptoms and prevent osteoporosis.

Progesterone production starts to decrease when a woman enters menopause and her endometrial lining no longer sheds every month. Progesterone is given to prevent the endometrial cells from growing due to unopposed estrogen supplementation.

Pregnenolone is made from cholesterol in the brain, ovaries and adrenal glands. Pregnenolone has anti-aging, anti-stress, anti-depressive, anti-arthritic and anti-fatigue effects. It also provides neuro-protection, improves mental alertness and awareness, enhances memory and cognition, and helps with lowering excess cholesterol.

Testosterone is produced by the ovaries in women. Like estrogen, testosterone levels are lower in women going through menopause. Symptoms of low testosterone levels in women include low libidos, fatigue, low muscle tone, weight gain and loss of mental focus.
